      Good experience with them here..

  10. Decided on the 250pds instead of the 300pds, that way im hoping i can get more gear on the neq6 pro

  11. When I've got the NEQ6 Pro on its pier and polar aligned is there away to use it so i don't have to use the 3 star align every time?

EQmod allows you to save your alignment points and it helps with Polar align

Once you're aligned, that's it. If you're on a pier, then just fire up, connect to your planetarium program, goto a star, centre, sync, and you're done. simples :-)

  12. Tried to find m51 tonight using my Celestine 5se, used the go-to but no luck. Everything else was found easy Jupiter, Polaris etc so I'm guessing there's too much light pollution to see it with a 5" scope??

I really struggled with most deep sky objects last night (and couldn't spot m51 at all) - lots of haze, high cloud and scattered moonlight in addition to the general light pollution. Then it clouded over :).

I'm getting the SW 300pds will that make a huge difference or will I still struggle because of LP?

      jabeoo1

I could see hardly a thing last night for L.P, except the moon and planets & the brightest stars. Thats was with a 10 inch dob.

  13. is there a place on the forum that people put scopes for sale or is that against forum rules?

Oh ok thanks, good idea really so u don't get someone coming in off Google and taking the deals lol

    3. ronin

      ronin

If I remember correct you need 50 to see it so that you can buy from it, but to put up a for sale you need 250 posts. So 50 to see and buy, 250 to see and sell.

Ok thanks, I'm looking for a new ota that's all but not got the cash yet. I just hadon't seen any sale area's so was just curious if there was any

Your 5SE is likely OK for Jupiter, a webcam is the normal way of imaging planets. "Normal" would be 5SE, barlow and webcam connected to laptop. Align, locate and track Jupiter, take a 60 second movie and load the movie (.avi file) into Registax. Process by stacking say the best 10% of the images.

if the 650D has a movie mode then you can use that to very good effect a small amount of googling will show you the results you might get
