  1. I’ve just had a look at the 25a power supply and it looks perfect for what i need, i’m going to keep my eye out for one now. Thank you
  2. Yes i use an eqdirect seriel to usb interface and a 5m active usb lead which i’ve always used. I dont use eqmod, i use a software called GSS (Green Swamp Server) to control the scope and i use N.I.N.A and astap platesolve but its that far off lately. i do use the sharpcap polar alignment tool to Polar align but i dont do a 3 star align procedure as i only use a computer. I’ll check those power supplies out thanks.
  3. Thats a good point i'll make sure i check when i next use it
  4. Ok thank you so much, i'm thinking of buying a 25a power supply to power everything at home and one of the skywatcher mobile power banks for when taking it out. Would there be a decent power supply you know of
  5. Really? I have APT on my computer i'll check it out thanks
  6. I dont do a 2 star alignment as i only really use the eqmod and computer. I've not changed any port settings but i'll check the speeds later in device manager. The computer sends the goto command then completely over shoots to the wrong location. I use a gps receiver so i cant see it being one the location settings and always try to have a good/excellent polar alignment in sharpcap. I suppose i'm just going to have to start trying new cables/power adaptors until i get to the bottom of it. Thanks for the tips
  7. Hi i dont really use the hand controller, i use the eqmod interface connected to my computer and GS Server to control it
  8. When i use the goto to a star etc the mount ends up in the complete wrong direction and in some unusual positions.
  9. I’m going to try new a new psu i just thought if it was the psu that my computer would have lost connection altogether but I’ll definitely give it a try
  10. Its just strange, i’ve always used the same 12v 5a power pack for the mount and usb but i use 3amp to my camera and filter wheel. I’ve done some tweeks to the mount this weekend so i’ll see what happens when i next get it out.
  11. I've used it for months and its been fine but just seems to have started doing it. This shouldn;t be a problem as the hub its connected to has its own power supply but i'll check everything to make sure its tightly connected etc thanks
  12. Hi all does anyone know if there is a software you can use to check for faults in a usb lead from my computer to my mount. It all seems to connect fine but my goto’s keep just going haywire.
  13. Hi all, i’ve just done some modifications to my beloved neq6 pro. I replaced all my bearings with skf bearings, i cleaned and put superlube grease in. At first it appeared that i had packed them too much so i stripped it down and took some out but its still stiff. Another thing i am now worried about is the plastic shims? can anybody tell me how many should be in each RA and Dec axis? Also the positions of them so i can make sure i have them in the right place? thanks
  14. I read that The caps are supposed to be removed so you can regrease them every so many years. I’m deffinately not buying new bearings every two years 😂 yes thats what got me worried, the manufacturer had put a lot less in
  15. Yes i removed the dust inserts, cleaned and regreased but i’m getting so many different views on this, some saying pack hard and some saying too much lol
  16. Hi guys and girls, i’m at the beginning of stripping and rebuilding my NEQ6 pro and have just started greasing the new bearings with superlube grease. Can anyone tell me how much grease i should be putting in?, as the videos I’ve watched on youtube said pack them out but other advice says less. would you say this in the image is too much and if so does anyone have any pictures of the right amount? Thank you
  17. I know this is an old post but which super lube is it? There’s about 10 different types(i might be exaggerating lol)
  18. Any of you pro's want to have a go at stacking and processing my fits images? i cant seem to get things right and would be interested to see if its me?

Could have a go for you if you like, can't promise it'll be any better though!

  19. Another thing that may show in the guide log is that i set everything running in a sequence and went to bed for a few hours and when i returned the tracking had taken the mount past the view of my house so was no longer seeing stars. Do you know of a way to check the mount movements to make sure they are running ok? maybe software for calibrating mounts etc?
  20. I see thank you, i've disabled it now so will hopefully get better performance.
  21. Thanks for that Michael, i got everything running in phd then the only thing i tried was the backlash adjustment in GS. I didnt touch any other setting. I’ll completely zero that out and try improving the back lash for phd instead. Thanks for your help Michael
  22. haha hopefully right this time. PHD2_GuideLog_2020-04-14_230033.txt
