  1. What a great set of scopes, I would be happy with the finder from the last one and for once the images on the side of the box dont lie. Alan
  2. Lovely, I was begining to think the Maks where being left out. Alan
  3. Small but perfectly formed my ZS71. Alan
  4. Comercial Nitrogen comes in various grades and I do not know which type is used in eyepieces but the Oxygen Free variety is expensive. Alan
  5. That sounds great but not exactly sure what you mean (i only have CS2 at the moment) any chance you could post more details at some time. Thanks Alan
  6. As above i have done similar with camera lenses usually using the eyepiece on a bit of newsprint will tell you if its worth testing in a scope. Alan
  7. That is similar to what i bought mine was a 72mm version with a 58-72mm step up ring but the one shown looks ideal and rubber helps with insulation. Alan
  8. The diameter needs to be quite large to avoid vignetting i use this on my kit lens and the 50mm lens. Alan
  9. I dont know how the HEQ5 differs but on the EQ3/5 the RA setting circle is designed to introduce a lot of drag and unlocking it allows the RA axis to swing free. Alan
  10. AP with a camera and lens is a bit easier on the mount requirements you can start off with a barn door tracker or an EQ3-2 and a 50mm lens longer focal length lenses will be limited to 2 min subs but that can be enough to get reasonable images, the problem is that the very best lenses of 200-400mm FL can cost many times that of the best scopes so it isnt allways cheap. The solution to the cost problem can be overcome a little by using old SLR lenses which will give reasonable performance for little money but again the very best do come at a price. Alan
  11. As a non newt owner i am very impressed it does seem the ideal balance between aperature and trackability wonderful stuff i must get one. Alan
