  1. I *think* it might be possible, looking at the pics of how the motor attaches - by a single bolt - to simply rotate the entire motor around the fixing bolt to make the new 12t gear mesh with the existing 60t gear?
  2. There isn't a serial number on the 24t pulley anywhere is there? Googling it could lead to it's specs and possible a 12t version?
  3. Depends on what you wanted to use it for. For me: Planetary and lunar visual or imaging = C9.25 (the extra aperture helps here). Deep sky visual or imaging = C8 EdgeHD (the wide corrected field and shorter focal length helps here).
  4. As with Dark Vader above, I've had some success sharing with neighbours a live moon view using a smartphone holder, simply get the phone positioned over the eyepiece properly and open the camera app and viola.... Live image of the moon that people can see clearly from a few feet away.
  5. Very very nice captures... super detail.
  6. Not bad at all! what time did you have ti stay up to to get a go at it? SEB looks like a shadow of it's former self!
  7. ...and for police usage (and probably military, behind the scenes)
  8. Nice find! I think this is a Tal Alkor scope. Thread on one of them here...
  9. Better get your tissues ready before you look at these "two mirrors"... https://www.astroshop.eu/telescopes/asa-telescope-16n-400-1520-astrograph-ota/p,46248
  10. That's nothing. An FC100D has only 31500mm2 of figured glass coming out at a frankly ridiculous 7.9p per mm2... All for for a little peashooter with two bits of glass!
  11. Have a look at these fo EQ platforms. The maker is based in Hungary so there will be import costs. I know a space station imager who has been testing one of these with his dob and is mighty impressed with it. https://tms-astro.webnode.hu/eq-platform/
  12. Fantastic fine details, very nice work
  13. Yes definitely looks like the 8.5" f6 export model, looks like it's in great condition too, very nice acquisition!
  14. Really? Better let these US scope makers know... Teeter Obsession
  15. I'm with Andrew on this one, depends on what 'winning' is?
  16. That's a Fullerscope indeed, maybe an 8.5" f/6, or a 6.5" f/8.... hard to tell from the pic. Grade A mirror too (very good mirror). Have a look at my astrobin (link in sig) for planetary and lunar images made with a 8.5" f7.5 fullerscope with a grade B mirror.
  17. For what it's worth I recently sent in a 12" dob mirror for a new hilux coating, and it was back with me 6 days after I sent it off and in perfect condition. That's the one and only dealing I've had with OOUK.
  18. Oh I do love these "help me spend my money" threads! What is your budget? What about one of the Rainbow Astro mounts with the strain wave gearing? I think even the smallest one will be fine for those scopes, although I'm not sure on the weight & length of the FLT132 might need to check that. Small and very portable mount if you need something to be moved around. Not much in the way of reviews of them though as far as I can see so far.
  19. Yeah it is an awful lot of scope for the money, I'm excited to see what it can do along with my new QHY462c... Jupiter's apparition isn't far off now and will be a bit higher than last year.
  20. Once that data is stretched it ceases to be science, and becomes art, so after that you might as well use brushes!
  21. I never 100% sure any of these mods will actually help to improve the performance of the scope but I do like to tinker! Good way to learn how it all works though.
