  1. The rain in Spain falls mainly when I fancy doing a bit of stargazing...

  2. At last the delicious pattering of heavy rain. No such thing as bad weather, just different kinds of good.

Just had one myself, and I woke up 11am! Good for the complexion, I'm told :-)

  4. Cystal clear evening tonight, took Jupiter to 200x, and got blinded with the moon at around 280x.

  5. First night in the desert. Got wonderfully spell bound by the cobweb complexity of the Milky Way. Loads of M numbers, few sketches.

  6. Best night of seeing since Spring time. May not sound much to you guys, but I could see down to mag 4.5 - 5 - in the city - with ease.

  7. Getting to within 1% error in measuring star separation.

  8. Is it a good idea to stop down my 4" before observing the sun, or will it be okay?

  13. Did anyone else see a small black dot over Jupiter this morning; about 10 o'clock-ish on the edge of the surface? I don't think it was my EPs for I went through the 5,6,7mm and each showed the same thing.

Thank you, Cotterless. The dark spot wasn't around the equator and the more I search I cannot find anyone else seeing the same thing. I will clean my OTA and look again tomorrow.

So jealous! Does it cool down much at night, or do you find the seeing is affected by heat radiating off at night?
