Brilliant Doug I myself cannot view from home now because of a new Led lamp however the man from the council came out he worked in Cumbria gaining awards for dark skies, he has said even if he has to make something himself he is going to stop the light from my view so I can get back out cannot ask for anything better than that. Paul

  3. If it has a retaining ring you could loosen that and with the flat of your hand smack the outside of the cell all the way around this may centre the glass.

  6. With light pollution if you dont live in a dark site its a no brainer and there are some lovely doubles and multiples out there. The joy of splitting a tight double is like looking at Saturn for the first time.

  8. I am mostly a double star man I do look at clusters and planetary nebulas but my lists are 90% double stars I have loads of lists from various outlets.

  10. My experience of LED lighting is not so good. The second image is what they put on when I complained.

  18. Absolutely roasting here and being a red head I'm not going out I'd need a radiation suit.
  19. I have read those but when I did my 8" many years ago the difference was very noticeable deep sky objects where a lot easier to spot such as the Ring Nebula Contrast was totally different that's why I have done it to this.
