  1. Had a chance take the dob out for a couple of hours well an hour cooling down the collimation is bob on the moons craters looked better than I have ever seen them, Saturn and two moons and Jupiter lovely 4 moons and 3 bands 4 with averted. Now do I sell or keep.
  2. Well first clear night and after loosening everything and re-collimating first look the moon at 17.30 scope had been out 45 minutes. What can I say fantastic the craters looked fabulous swing over to Saturn obviously rings not in the best angle but clear as a bell planet and rings 2 moons as well. Jupiter was high enough now and what a sight 3 bands 4 with averted and 4 spot moons finally everything is bang on.

  6. I need a tent to stand up in I have arthritis in my spine and 3 collapsed discs. I need a double height air bed which I insulate from below thanks for the offer.
  7. Did anyone notice during covid we had some great clear transparent nights but when planes started criss crossing back and forth the skies went back to the usual one good night in a blue moon.

  10. I have had a few button batteries in packets new fail, one only a week ago when I changed my car key battery. Put a brand new one in key did not work checked the battery 3.3v but just to make sure opened another put that in and worked first time, so obviously first battery was faulty.
  11. I was went a few times but when its raining they meet inside I went twice sat there for 45mins not one person spoke to me same the week after so not been back since.
  12. I have done the washer and milk carton upgrade as the original collimation screws had already made divots, I have loosened all the mirror clips and checked with a playing card as someone said and re-collimated it. I am just waiting for a clear night to test it out again.
  13. No they gradually rotate as a focus in and out.
  14. No it was two distinct moons very close like a 1.5° split double star they rotated as I focused in and out I have never seen this ever.
  15. No afraid not had rain for past 3 days it's overcast now I have not seen a star since Saturday I will of course update this thread as soon as I can get out. Thank you Paul
  16. On my Tal I put the band on the objective and one just in front of that. Power wise I have USB bands 5v and use a power bank so I have no trailing cables I find these keep me dew free in my yard.
  17. I have spotted twice once from home in the 10" with a UHC filter not the most spectacular objects but a good object to tick off.
  18. As it's dark earlier if you have good views all around M13, M92, double cluster NGC 869/884, blue snowball in Andromada NGC7662.

  20. I've collimated it with a laser now going to do a star test then if it's the same I will take the cell out. The stars where not points of light but I am used to refractors so I expected them to be diffracted with the vanes but not to the degree they were. Jupiter looked very soft with 25mm and 15mm BST, s
