First Lunar Image

Finally got around to introducing my Canon 600d to my Celestron C8N last night.

Didn't know what I was doing to start with but got this after a bit of practice and  taking some photos of the Sun earlier in the day.

Its a single shot that has been cropped.

That's a very good start and a nice capture! :)

Is the camera attached to the scope, or is it taken trough the EP?

If it's attached to the scope, i'd sugest trying this:

Because of the high brightness of teh moon, and the high dynamic range, i would recommend to use a lower ISO setting of 100-400, and then set the exposure acordingly so that the brightest part of the moon is no more then about 85-90% exposed or so.

Great pic but you could improve by taking a video and stacking in AS!2. You will need an AVI. file to do so. If you use Backyard EOS you get an AVI. ready to stack or you could use one of the free conversion software progs.
