First image post, your critique would be welcome (Witches Broom, HOO)

15 x 600s for each HA and OIII (Dithered)

WO 80/480 Megrez 80 (LOMO)

Skywatcher flattener

Atik 314l+ Mono

Location: Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire (Moderate LP)

Stacked with DSS (2x Drizzle)

Processed in Pixinsight, Combined HOO, DBE, stretch and noise reduction.

My processing is ham fisted so I tend to keep it light, any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I'm very happy with the OIII data but the Ha was taken under suboptimal seeing which didn't help the focus either.

Many thanks for the kind comments. I'd be lying to say it is my first Veil, just the first one I've chosen to share as it doesn't have the glaring deficiencies that have sent me to the search box on this forum to find solutions.

That's a very good image: you must be pleased.

Processing is good too. Have you tried Harry's PixInsight tutorials, http://www.harrysastroshed.com/pixinsight/pixinsight%20video%20html/Pixinsighthome.html ? They're very helpful guides with practical tips. I found them to be indispensable.

Yes, I'd have been lost without his videos. His light hearted commentary of initially complicated processes is superb. The man is a giant amongst men.

Well I know I need to loose weight - but there's no need to tell everyone

Errr..... sorry.

But, it is great to be able to thank you directly. I produce various instructional videos for our works website (which I also get paid to do), so I'm vary aware that the 5-10min time-stamp is not the amount of time you expended on each video.

My thanks again, Matt.

Makes it all worth while if people find them useful

Go on. Tell the truth. That's not your first image really is it? :wink2:

No, far from it. I did clarify I little down the thread that it was first image posted, not first image. I've probably pointed that way half a dozen times but I've never been quite satisfied.

From a point of taste though, I do like the DSLR renditions of the Veil, mine and others. The wispy/ethereal look I'm used to is gone with CCD (punch you in the face with colour) narrowband.
