SGL6 from Mission Control :)

Sorry I wasnt very social over SGL6, I really wasnt feeling very well even before I arrived (even to the point where I had contemplated not going at all). It took me until Sunday morning to feel normal again and regain my appetite. So, sorry if I hid in the tent a lot, I really didnt feel like socialising that much.

Anyway, I hope the wifi and internet access was helpful to those who connected. I know we had a few issues with the Vodafone uplink, but it behaved most of the time. We had 124 hosts associate with the wifi hotspot, connected outbound 265752 times, and chewed through a whopping 4.2Gb of data from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday mid-morning. I was happy with the coverage area the wifi antenna provided, I just need to work on improving the internet link for next time.

In addition to the network link, I was also running a Unihedron USB Sky Quality Meter and some environment monitor stuff. I have grabbed that data and created the graph below for those who are interested.

(Note that the "Temp C SQM" value is higher than the "Temp C" line due to it being measured from the Sky Quality Meter which is in direct sunlight, and therefore the unit itself gets warmer).

Oh, and to answer the question about which has the better sky, Kelling or Lucksall..... comparing the best SQM readings from SGL6 last weekend with Kelling from September 2010, there really isnt much in it (21.43 Lucksall, 21.44 Kelling). Graph from Kelling is available >>HERE<<

Thanks for all of the effort you and the team put in... It was a shame the weather and visability wasnt better, but atleast it was clear. Having WIFI was brilliant, so thanks very much for providing it :icon_eek:

Well done for making it Steve! And all your hard work. No worries about being a bit reclusive. I too had to go to ground for a while as I still felt ill, so I know how you feel. Kudos on staying the course mate!

I wonder what your chart would read for Sunday night, it went very moist indeed, although still wonderfully clear. By 4am when I packed down everything was running with water.

Thanks for the WiFi, it was such a cool surprise to arrive and find it all set up.

Hope you're feeling much better now.
