Hi WolfsPride and welcome to SGL, with most of our newcomers we advocate obtaining a copy of Turn Left at Orion, but equally as good and far more extensive is The Illustrated Guide to Astronomical Wonders, available through your Amazon s/h almost new, for as little as $5 plus postage, there is a beginners section which covers most basics, the rest is what you can see with a small to medium scope, excellent value :D
