Very interesting.

I did notice one point

Mars is given as a distance of 10 to the 4

Venus is given as 4x 10 to the 4.

Ian,

The location of the planets are based on their current locations according to right ascension, (I think?) so you'll notice the horizontal position as well.

And hey! Where's SOHO?! It's an outragous omission!

I have check Venus & Mars' postion using Cartes du Ceil

Venus is at 22.30 RA and 1.5AU

Mars is at 18.50 RA and 2.2AU

The graph has Venus at 9 hours RA & Mars at 23 Hours RA.

I think this graph relates to a specific time and due to the planet orbits this info is always changing.

This must have been written when Mars & Earth were near each other and Venus was over the other side of the Sun.
