I didn't manage to see them but a few people in the local astronomy society took some images. The colour range was not a broad as your image from here. Light pollution effect?

Its possible,what surprised me was the amount of purple and it was so nice to see the bigger beams of light dancing across the sky,not that i saw too much of it because i was at my work after all.
