Leo I (dwarf galaxy)

Hi guys,

Here's another of the November images which I didn't have time to get to till now…

It's been since I saw an image of Leo I on Brian Peterson's site, that I wanted to image it. Seemed that the little galaxy hiding in the haze has some magic over it..

This is a one hour shot, and though the F2.8 works well for nebula, I think that the theory is that point sources are determined per aperture only – and here it's 8".

Love this one as it is resolved so nicely and the bright star balances well.

Have to agree collimating at f2.8 is tough!

Lovely photo, I've tried to see it through my 13" but so far have failed-dont know if it's even worth trying. Good ol' Leo the first - long may he reign (oh - hang on there's a Leo II already isn't there)
