Lunar Eclipse - 21/12/2010

Hi all,

Here's a couple of images from this morning, conveniently from the bedroom window, although wifey was none too happy about having the window open when it's -9 outside.

Canon 450d, Canon 75-300mm lens at 300mm.

Very nice Luke. Although you've captured some nice detail in 1&3, I like the second shot. Now that's not a sight you'll often see, is it?

And yes it was blinkin' chilly getting out of bed and straight outside at 7am!

Fine shots from the bedroom window Luke. A nice Coppery tinge to the semi eclipse moon. What a shame you couldn't have got totality,

but I suppose that would have really upset the Mrs having the widow open that long.

I wonder what the bird in the tree made of it?

I think the bird was a Blackbird. Couldn't have seen totality anyway, as here on the east coast the moon had set beforehand.
