A 2" 32mm would be worth getting - the 2" fitting can give a 70 degree apparent field of view (thats about a 1.9 degree true field) which is very nice for framing the larger deep sky objects and also for finding the smaller ones before applying a bit more magnfication.

For your budget you should be able to pick up a used 32mm Panaview - they are £75 new.

Edit: Doc and I thinking similarly there !

Price wise these fit,

Antares Plossl, ~£20 @ Rother Valley

Vixen NPL Plossl, ~£30-40 @ Sherwoods.

GSO Plossl, ~£32 @ 365 Astronomy

Lacerta, Platetary, ~£46-48 @ 365 Astronomy

Baader Planetary HR, ~£50 @ Modern Astro

Orion ED2 clones, ~£50 @ Astronomica

WO SWANS, ~£60 @ FLO

Scope and Skies will have a selection just not sure what they have. Also check SCS Astro, sure they have a selection of reasonable budget eyepieces also. (Memo: Update the list:D)

If just one I would be tempted by the WO SWANS and the apparent clones of the ED2's.

If you wanted 2 then the Vixens should be worth while a thought, although GSO and Antares are less cost and fairly good.

Do SGL have a review list of the assorted budget eyepieces in the £60 and less range?

That is the area that most look at when first upgrading their stock eyepieces.
