On December 4, 2010, be part of the first annual Comet Watch! On this date, amatuer astronomers throughout the world will venture out, in search of the next comet! All that is needed is a passion for astronomy and a telescope/binoculars.So heres my challenge to you: Can you find the next comet? Will you be attending?

You asked for more details on Comet watch 2010? Well, on December 4, 2010, all night long, all throughout the world, people will be in search of new comets. There is no specific location for the event. It can be in your front yard, a dark sky site, wherever you would like. Just search for a comet! If you do get lucky, and spot a comet, email the International Astronomical Union and tell them about your sighting. This is the first Comet Watch. Good luck!

I think the idea was to find a new comet. So just stick your scope skywards and look for something which is moving.

Sadly it was yesterday so if you want to join the mysterious 'Comet Wtch' project, you'll have to wait another year.
