Dielectric
Ok, so many of you have been there, seen it done it, but tonight I glimpsed Io's shadow crossing Jupiter. It is by far one of the most amazing things I have observed, absolutely breathtaking!I hope everyone else got a glimpse of this. Sadly, the unforecasted clouds rolled in off the North Sea and spoiled things at 2200hrs....Fingers crossed for Ganymede and Europa shadow transits on October 16th, good luck all!Arif:cool:

Altair
Yes pleased to say I caught the shadow of Io quite clearly crossing Jupiter tonight but dew was my downfall and after three uses of the hairdryer i had to give up! lovely to see it though really seeing was pretty good considering.... James
My neighbour and I saw the shadow too. The first time for him It always surprises me just how sharp and dark the shadow looks compared to other features on Jupiter.James
Beulah
My son was blown away when we saw the shadow transit last night.
russ
Myself and Keiran watched this last night. It was great seeing Io itself in front of Jupiter and then pulling away from the planet. I think Keiran described it as a zit at one point.
