Starting price of £299 with 4 days to go.

Sad to see it's being sold due to ill health though!

Wow wow wow!

Tonight I got my first light with the new ethos 13mm and I am truly blown away!

I an not really a visual guy so I was very pleasantly surprised with what I could see and the quality if the views.

I stuck with my 12 inch f5 dob throughout tonight - after a good collimating session I put in the ethos and went for a wander around the sky. Compared with my 13 mm Hyperion the field of view and the extra contrast is simply staggering. I was expecting to have poor star shapes at the edge of the field as the Hyperion shows this quite badly but it is now clear that it's the hyperions not the main mirror.

I will write more tomorrow after some sleep but all I can say is wow!

Thanks for the field report! Any chance you could quantify the field of view a little with a diagram or sketch?

I think a lot of people who haven't actually used one yet make the mistake of thinking that the Ethos is all about the 100 degree FOV whereas it's the contrast and sharpness that's the most impressive thing about them.

Good point, but the famed 'spacewalking' FOV is something I haven't experienced. Would this eyepiece work well on smaller, faster scopes or is it limited to higher focal lengths?

Good report - I really like the FOV lines. Wish more eyepieces were documented like that.
