It's hiding behind the earth!

Actually, you only need to wait for the next couple of clear nights as it's a known fact (by astronomers) that it's always a full moon on clear nights (although totally scientifically unproven).

When it does appear, you'll be amazed at what you can see.

In the mean time, as the nights get darker and darker, you'll be able to see much more in your scope. Summer is a really bad time for astronomy, the sky is still very light, even at 1pm.

So its just sit and wait for dark nights.

Well at least we are getting the garden ready and tidy to sit out in

on the looong winter nights.

Bring it on.;o)

The moon stays rather low in the summer, especially when it's full-ish (that's because it's opposite the sun then and the sun is barely under the horizon after sunset). In addition, it's getting to be near new moon now so it rises in the morning.

Saw it a few days back. Big, about 3/4 full.

It was about 1:00pm in the afternoon however, in the West as I recall.

It's not always/only visible at night.

Looks good in the afternoon, makes a change from standing outside at night.
