I chose the wrong scope for this and ended up with a much wider field that I needed! I ran this through astrometry.net and was surprised to see that there are quite a few faint galaxies that are not identified - I assume this is because they are not yet named?

Astrometry.net doesnt use extensive catalog for ID'ing galaxies It will give you the Messiers and some NGC's but no PGC's etc ...

This is why I end up doing it by "hand" using CdC V3 with a load of other catalogs installed somwhere around 4-5 GB of catalogs loaded up...

That's got a lot of fuzzies Craig... what FL was that taken at ?

It was around 293mm John - I used the 366mm ZS66 with the 0.8X Reducer

I took this one with my equinox 66 + meade 6.3 reducer and I have labelled most of the galaxies, you are welcome to use it to label yours.
