M35 + NGC2158

Seems alot of folk were out imaging Hosehead last night, including me, have yet to process mine but after HH I went on to take these clusters and all time favourite of mine.

35 minutes ISO800 with canon 1000d through Meade 127 ED guided, flats, darks etc very little processing and just a tad of cropping for composition.

Not yet, its very rare I use spikes but they give cluster images a lift so I may give it a go

Did a bit of a reprocess on this to get the colours a bit more vibrant, I think it looks a bit better

That Meade 127 - Is it a triple refractor ?

It produces sme nice images in the right hands as you prove.

I love the composition of M35 and ngc2158.

The Open Cluster has been a favourite of mine from the first ever sight I had of it.

Yes CAT its the triplet and I am well pleased with it.

Ron, M35 is a favourite of mine also. Ever since I was a lad with my Tasco 60mm in the 60s with my old Tasco 60mm this was the 1st open cluster I turned it to. It was the 1st DSO I tried autoguiding on 5 years ago.

A favorite of mine too Phil, very nicely done!!!! NGC 2158 gives the shot shot a sense of scale, it being much more distant....

Very nicely captured Phil, you can see the presumably older yellow stars of NGC2158 very well against what look like the newer blue white stars of M35.
