Hi everyone.

After years of wanting a telescope I went out and got a Skywatcher Explorer 130p AZ Goto.

Went out for the first time Sunday night for 1 hour and got to see Jupiter and its moons, Vega and some craters on the moon. Even manually tracked a plane in the distance :D and got a lucky glimpse of a Satellite passing the scopes view when looking at a cluster of stars

Wasn't best night to look at the moon as it was full but I was so excited and after a week of clouds I just wanted to look, I couldn't wait any longer :D

Didn't Align the mount as I didn't have a star chart to know all the stars, got stellarium software now :)

I am currently trying to make my web cam into a CCD camera for pictures of the moons craters

I hope to go out tonight as the forecast has clear skys from 22:00

I live in west wales where it seems to be cloudy a lot at night :)

Hi, and welcome to SGL.You got yourself a nice scope there.

Good luck with your webcam mod. They do a good job on the moon and planets.

Lots of help for you if you need any, just ask away.

Enjoy the forum.

Ron.:D
