Old friend - new scope

I am testing a new scope..and had not been out in ages on deep sky, so thought I'd go for something simple as a warm up for the winter months. Hopefully obs built very soon, and won't have to faff about every night with lugging/aligning etc.

Stuck in 210 minutes of H-A on Saturday, combined with about 60 mins of useful RGB data. Image is cropped

I want to get the fainter outer regions captured as well. I was hoping to add another 5-6 hours of 30 min subs tonight but its not looking good at the moment

Great mottly detail in the apple core Nick and the "ears" look good. The Ha looks a bit anaemic

Stuff we never saw not too long ago, is being revealed in some of these popular targets. Down to camera sensitivity plus no little processing skills. It's a good one Nick.

But, just as you you were all catching up, Hubble opened the shutter on it's new camera:D:D.

Nice - I'm looking at the first image and thinking "Lazy git, cut down on the processing there..."

I think you should go back to it yet again Nick - although as it stands it is a nice crisp image that doesn't look stretched or strained at all.

I was on m27 for the outter halo when i lost all my data ( hard drive failure) and never went back to it, one to start fresh next year.

Clean and deep which is not always easy. Is it me or do others find the sky around the Dumbbell curiously black in images? (Halo apart, I mean?)

This is very nice, Nick - although the second image is perhaps a little too red, I prefer it to the first - in any event, it's a good'un!

I agree steve...just needs more data/time on it rather than pushing the curves too much
