Collimating my Newt.

Hello no sorry its not a how to do it or a plea for help yet, some of you may now that ive had bad back problems over the last 18 months and it has got in the way of many projects.

Well about a year ago i made a purchase of a Celestron Omni XLT150 and due to back issues it never got used with any anger and has been sitting in the corner here.

I did get around to flocking the tube and put it all back together.

And now with a few simple tools i am going to have a go at collimating it, and now i can lift it get it out in the garden this season and see what it can do.

Good luck and take it one step at a time on the collimation.

If I was doing it I would definately NOT have a hammer within easy reach!

it's not a hammer, it's a focuser fine alignment tool.

Hammer = Birmingham screwdriver (well, that's what I was taught as an apprentice)

As someone who comes from Bilston I am mortally offended by this. A Bilston Screwdriver would have to at least a 4 pound lump hammer

The big collimation thing in the states at the moment seems to be the barlowed laser method.
