Skywatcher AZ-GTIx setup problems

I’ve upgraded from the AZ GTI where I encountered no problems polar aligning with Zwo asi air ect. 
Im struggling to understand why my mount is rotating 60 degrees towards my wall after I start the PA process. I have it on  WO wedge and joint about pointed at Polaris.  All is level and balanced. I have set the mount to  EQ mode. I have attached two images to ask forum users whether the mount is correctly on the wedge. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I would presume that you need to rotate the mount 90 degrees so that the L bracket is either on top or underneath, and find a way to mount a counterweight, similar to how you would with the AZ-Gti.

Does it need the EQ firmware to recognise being in EQ mode
