hello, looking for some recomendations for dark skies

I live in Bedfordshire which isn't great for star gazing but I am travelling for work near Huddersfield in a place called Holmfirth, looks close to the northern side of the peak district, anyone have any places to go?, don't mind traveling 30 or so mins each way. seen a couple of people online say that 10 minutes down the A635 is good. thankyou

Two resources that might be useful:

First is the GoStargazing website that has a map of dark sky locations reported by locals

The other is the light pollution map

However, at this time of year, and with your new location being further North than your usual spot, the sky won't get properly dark until the beginning of August. 

There will be astro societies to get to know though, and they'll be found under the Events pages of the Go Stargazing site.
