I used to be an active(ish) amateur astronomer but then life got in the way for a while.

I'm back now and in a great position to restart my journey so here I go.

There is no such thing as a silly question.
You have been an amateur astronomer in the past. The sky is much the same. Telescopes are still made from curved glass and mirrors.
It is this new computery imaging enhancing goto stuff that changes by the month and confuses us all!

I'm from Manchester too, lived all over and eventually settled down the M56 a bit, close enough to see family but far enough to not have them dropping round all the time !

Sure you'll get up to speed quickly, the only silly questions are the ones you don't ask and waste hrs of precious clear skies figuring out for yourself.
