Hi everyone

Never had much luck with skywatcher refractors but this 72ed, after a little persuasion, seemed tolerable, especially with the 4 element ff. Instead of the expected fat blue blobs, reasonable stars emerged.

Does anyone else use a 72? How do you find it?

Wishing you clear skies and thanks for looking.

V nice, I had a 72 for a while a few years back. Always called it my first adult scope! only got rid of it as I got a Askar 400 and it didnt get used much after that. Always found that it was a good reliable scope apart from a little issue with the focuser. Sorted that by putting a motor drive on it,

very tight stars... anything in particular

Hi. Nothing special. Just a minimalist StarTools process, with the emphasis on minimal.

It could be that the image looks unusual these days: none of the stars have been manipulated/removed/separated/layered/WHY and the image is free of ai.

Cheers

Of course they have! They are no longer linear but have been stretched. Removing them, masking them, whatever, is just a way of giving their cores a different stretch from their edges, which is exactly what any curves or levels stretch will do. If you want to post un-manipulated stars just post your linear image.

When an image is processed, it's processed.
