First acceptable Saturn of the year. Unfortunately the Moon was very close which makes it lose some of the contrast even so we can easily see the bands on the planet and even the polar hexagon that looks good on the IR photo with its central dark eye.

It is an oblate spheroid because it spins so fast, it looks flattened out.

yes that makes sense but it looks like a more complex shape- not just squashed. I think it must be an optical illusion caused by the brightness of the rings behindB7961B6C-8E77-4202-8B59-977BAA14C430.thumb.jpeg.d3a0b7da5baa206096b074b858b0c28d.jpeg
