Noctilucent Clouds - Fri 4 June / Sat 5 June

Lots of reports of NLC tonight. Here's a quick snap from the phone camera.

Interesting, I cannot say I have ever seen these noctilucent clouds, nor has my spell check as it tries to correct it. Maybe I have but just had no idea what they were? who knows but now I will pay more attention at dusk, what are the circumstances that lead to their formation?, I will google this.

I get them occasionally down here. None tonight although it's an excellent night for astronomy in all other respects.

The best noctilucent clouds I've seen were a memorable night last year which coincided with comet Neowise:

I am ever hopeful maybe might get lucky and capture something for challenge #4 too
