Stunning seeing this evening

After some reasonable views during the day, I just had a fifteen minute session before dinner. The seeing had settled down and the granulation was very striking. The individual cells visible at x200, forming swirling patterns around the AR.

The AR itself showed lovely intricate detail in the umbra, and beautiful petal structure in the penumbra. Best views I’ve had for some time. More proof (if it were needed) that seeing conditions are everything for solar, and that often mornings and evenings are better than during the heat of the day.

Shot attached does not do the views justice at all, but just for the record...

I had my scope out all day today to grab quick sessions here and there. I didn’t think conditions would be decent at the end of the day because the wind had picked up but I was completely wrong. First time I have got a decent view at 100x plus in Ha with the binoviewers. Very nice.

Thanks Paul. It’s frustrating because it was so much better through the scope! Need to crack stacking some videos.
