AR2824 ROTATING INTO VIEW, NEPTUNE SIZE DARK CORE, FLARING ACTIVITY.

Worth keeping an eye on this one as it progresses onto the disc..  First spotted the sunspot at 7.55am through the PST, very obvious. Then looked on spaceweather.com and found the information below.

I had a few more views between 12.00 and 12.15pm.  In the PST I could see a nice irregular plage area around it and a filament.

Ha ! That was exciting, an unexpected 15 minutes break in the clouds allowed , and I saw two sunspots, my first ever ! The Baader solar film purchase has been worthwhile just for that 😎

I actually managed a glimpse with the Coronado 60mm. Big AR indeed, quite a bit of plage visible. Didn't note any flaring at the moment. Nice prom fairly close by

Thanks @paulastro, good to see some more activity. Rain and occasional  thunder here most of the day, sun just popping out now but it will have to wait for another day.
