Fantastic image Kevin. I am amazed at how much Ha the 50D has picked up.

It is also sobering when you consider the lens has 18 lenses in 13 groups! Thats a lot of air-glass surfaces but look at what can be achieved!

Thanks for the DSS info. I found this all very informative. I'll be sticking to my Dob for now, but eventually want to move into astro photography. There's a lot to learn and this is definately the right place to do it!

Thanks for your nice comments all. I used a 2" Orion Sky Glow Filter sat inside the lens shroud (as my Astronomik CLS clip filter doesnt fit the 50D). The new version of their CLS/CCD filter does fit so I will probablly go for one of those soon.
