My local council have agreed  to fit light shields to three street lights we have around our house ! I only made a casual enquiry but they agree and have ordered the light shields to be fitted in a 2/3 weeks !!

I was gob smacked - they were falling over to help me - it was helped by the fact the woman I spoke to has a son into Astro imaging

WOW that's great I just emailed the council and ask for 2 street lamps to have shields fitted , and can they knock down the block of flats to my east lol,  don't think the flats will be done  but hope street lights is a yes

They are not that big lol , well just got e mail back they will fit shields in about 5 days that's so nice they are so bright they light up our bedroom, that was more easy than I thought it was going to be

I tried twice several months ago. Liverpool City Council didn't even reply back... So well done!

That's what Paul (wookie1965) said they don't want to know tell them it lights up your bedroom they have to do something then

Actually the one in front of the house does light the bedroom a bit. The really offensive light is in a cul de sac behind. I suppose I could try complaining it's lighting up my youngest's room.

Your councils are very accomodating. I thought they came out and assessed first??

That point worked for me as well. I sent them some photos of my daughters room with the light coming through the window even with the curtains closed. A shield was fitted to the offending light within a week.
