Gusty wind blowing into the dome and moving the telescopes around.
Changed to PST blocking filter to shorten exposure times.
Using a 2x Barlow for more image scale. Only 75 frames stacked.
Only 1k frame captures to keep capture periods as short as possible.
Filament in NE quadrant. Prom at 10 o'clock on NE limb.

Nice.

I think you have still got some room to reduce gain and hence reduce overall exposure on the prom shots.
Do you use flats on the surface shots?

From memory, this was zero gain in SharpCap using the PST blocking filter.
I have been limiting myself to short captures to avoid the gusts.
As the day wears on I shall be turning the shutters out of the wind.
Probably means the seeing goes downhill.

Today's blog has more images but all are inferior to those I posted here.
I still haven't tried flats. It's on my "things to avoid doing" list. ;)

A couple of ms off exposure may help then.

Flats are well worth doing for surface shots. Just find a section of the surface with no features (easy enough these days!!!) defocus and grab an AVI with a couple of hundred frames. The AVI can then be processed and flat applied in AS!3.

Geoff,

Here's a quick conversion of your .bmp file to JPEG. ;)
The smaller image was cropped out of the original for a bit more image scale and detail but at the cost of some unwanted noise.
