With storm Ciara on the way are you getting ready?

Aside from battening down the hatches I recall previous storms being followed by good observing conditions so I'm crossing my fingers for this and making sure I'm ready for any opportunities.

It will be worth enduring a storm if we get some clear nights.

Big amber wind warning now, lots of rain forecast... batten down the obsy hatches people!

We have the calm before then storm at the moment. It sounds like its going to get a bit brutal as from tonight. Just hope that my daughter can get back to Leeds Uni on Sunday, as transport networks might be cancelled. As you say, could be that there follows some good observing conditions for later next week.

For anyone with a roll-off roof, make sure it's locked down securely. I remember @Gina losing the roof of hers a few years back.
