C/2018 N2 ASASSN. & MIRACH.

Hi everyone, despite there being a bright moon last night  i had to have a play.

This is a one minute sub of ASASSN taken through my ODK 12 as it is passing the star Mirach in Andromeda.

No faint tail showing on this one,i think the Moon put paid to that.

Excellent Bob, I opened the obs'y roof last night and wandered in and out until gone midnight but the clouds refused to budge.

Great capture, can you believe I aligned on this last night and focused but only a 2 second exposure, so I imagine it would not have been visible, for sure with 4x4 binning of 071, if Halley's had been there I doubt I would see it.

I agree with Mark. I can see Mirach's Ghost but not the Comet.

You are right guy's my mistake and I thought it was the comet, it is the galaxy. My apologies to all, I feel a right numpty now, Now I know why there's no faint tail as like my last pic of it.  I now have imaged Mirach's Ghost for first time. Will have to be more careful at what I am doing next time.

It is a fine photograph though. I love looking at that NGC 404..

Bob its no problem. I have often star hopped to a DSO thinking I had the correct object and got it wrong.

As Mark stated its a good photo of NGC 404.

Easy done Bob, I spent a while imaging a fuzzy little galaxy one night before I realised it wasn't moving 😂
