Hi,

last night  i've used my new ASI1600 for the first time, last year my very first deep sky target was M31 so i didn't need to think about it.

I've gathered 90x60sec Lum and 40x180sec Ha.

RGB, and more Lum, Ha and Oiii are for clear nights to come.

Yesterday i wanted to ad data to this target, so i had a imaging plan prepared, also i had my Canon 750Da piggy backing the ED80 to get some widefield shots on the area around M31.

The forecast was very good so i planned the whole night in an image plan on APT

50x60s Lum

50x60s R-G-B

and 40x180sec Oiii

At the same time BYE would run the Canon for 300 30s shots

Unfortunately something went wrong, PHD2 wasn't running wel (communication problem leading to time-out and shutting down guiding), communication with the ASI1600 wasn't responsive (images weren't loading on the computer)

I finally gave up and so one clear night was wasted.

Could running 3 camera's on one system have been the cause ? I can't see any other difference from the first light night other than adding the Canon camera.

I suspect you’d connected phd2 and apt to the same camera - that’d cause the download hang.

Check the equipment page in phd2 and click the ‘road junction’ button next to the camera selection

I will check that, thanks for the tip
