m31 / inch of aperture.

Ultra mini 30mm guide scope, 130mm FL, F4.3, 570 seconds integration.  Was guiding m31 with asi120mm - DSLR imaging.  Surprised what mini guide scope was picking up even in PHD2.  While taking dark frames switched to sharpcap see photons guide scope could gather.  Impressed with detail in dust lanes from such tiny amount of aperture. Second image is example of single frame I was enjoying watching stretch & stack.

Stack is 19 x 30 sec frames, gain 22, 12 bit, 1280x960 png, live stack sharpcap.

Wow, how cool.. goes to show that aperture doesn't always need to be massive to get impressive results.
