My new 200p Dob

Recommended Posts

The doughnut should be in the centre of the mirror. Unless it is some strange reflection it is nowhere near the centre and needs to be recentred. To do this you will have to remove the primary mirror cell from the bottom of the OTA, carefully remove the doughnut from its current position without scratching the mirror, accurately replace the doughnut, reattach the mirror cell and finally collimate the telescope. Given that this is a new telescope you will probably want to contact your supplier and get them to fix or replace the telescope.

The doughnut looks to be centre when I look down the scope. It's the small smudge  next to the doughnut im concerned about . I'm going to use low pressure  blast of air to see if it's just  dust or junk from the factory

Would not touch it

If a bit of dust will not impede your viewing

You have flex or solid tube Dob

For solar viewing, the hard plastic cover, has a small detachable cap

Sticky tape some visual badder film, under side of the detachable cap, and leaving off spotting scope, then can do solar viewing

Next year, NASA is sending another rover to Mars

The attached link, you are able to register, and have your name included on the rover

Also able to download a Boarding Pass

Share around with family and friends

It looks like it has been taken from down the tube, the camera is off centre,

if it was taken from the focus tube then it would show the doughnut in it's

central position.
