A good night for Schröter's Valley

I've just had a quick look at the moon while the scope is cooling and Schröter's Valley is looking well positioned.

If, like I know a few of us are, you are a fan of this area then it is well worth a look tonight.

Very hazy skies here tonight, sadly.  I can see vague detail on the Moon, but that's about it

Got the 130mm F/9.2 triplet refractor in service this evening. Should provide some very nice lunar views.

This will be my 5th session this week - I'm glad I'm retired and don't have to get up too early !

6am alarm for me, but I'll hopefully manage a short ish session a little later with the Mewlon.

Nice heads up, Schröter's Valley is a superb area, looked pretty good through 20x80's . I would like to have imaged as well, but "cream crackered" to be honest!

It's looking lovely right now but a gusty wind is making 375x a little tricky at times.

Thanks Stu.  I'd planned to observe it when I got home from work around 10 pm, alas cloud stopped play - or to be more accurate  -  match postponed! 😥
