M1 & M33 At Last.

What a great night last night was.

The best night this year in terms of clarity and magnitude.

Saw the M1 and M33 for the first time :hello1:

Both looked like a mottled white oval smudge but who cares I saw them.

Very pleased with myself.

I'm posting a report soon so more details to follow.

was I the only person who had snow last night (cos I got a new scope) ?? :?

Sorry to hear that.

Apparently it did snow in the midlands, I live in the midlands and I didn't see any.

I guess the sky counts a lot :-) I was able to see M1 with direct vision in my 3.5" APO (WO Megrez 90) two nights ago. Not an impressive sight, but nevertheless... I also saw M81 for the first time. Great!

Can anyone else confirm that it should be possible to see M33 if you can see M1?

:) Last night the sky was very clear after the early rain, i decided not to get the scope out as it was getting late so used me binoculars just shows what can be seen with them.

I saw M81M82 , M35 ,M36,M37,M38 M31,M42,M78,M41,M44and as mentioned M33, but was unable to see M1.

Just shows how useful binoculars can be and it only took 20mins the sky in malvern is very good .
