Time to get the dob out

Looks like a clear night here tonight, at least until 1:00 am or so. No moon until 2:00 am either so I think the 12" dob is going to be the instrument of choice

I aim to give my 10" a run away from home and a darker sky, fingers crossed ?

Saturday looks good for me so may venture to a dark site for the first time with the 8" dob,  assuming my car is fixed in time !

I'm lucky that my dob just has to be moved about 2 metres from the corner of the dining room to the patio viewing area. 2 quick lifts and it's out and cooling.

Too many clouds, we finally had the first few drops of rain (I could count them) since April.
Besides the ecliptic is too low, the hill and the big oak trees are in the way.
In a few more weeks it will be better, but then the rain will be coming down in buckets! ?
