Mars in Incredible Detail, sorry, I mean Invisible Detail

I've observed Mars 3 times now this opposition. Some dark features plus hints of a pole cap a week or so ago but the past couple of attempts have shown a pretty much plain orange red disk.

Shame about the massive dust storm - lousy timing :rolleyes2:

I can see hints of detail from my latitude 33N84W, but visually it's pretty bland. When I imaged a few nights ago, I was able to pull out a little detail, some brightening near the poles which is actually sublimated ice and dust reflecting sunlight and not actual polar caps:
