Some NLC activity

Looked out before hitting the hay tonight and saw some really bright knots of NLC activity low in NNW.  Thought I'd try a DSLR capture (my first - inspired by the brilliant videos of @rorymultistorey / Astro-Biscuit) - here it is below.  Won't win any competitions, but what a thrill to see it and capture it (I was clouded out last night so missed the "big one").

Bright activity in NNW now ,my first sighting this season.Image  taken  at 01:51 BST with a Canon 1000D EOS 1.3 sec ex   100ISO using a old M42 threaded Chinon f28mm.

 

Just done an experiment and its easy to read the larger print of a book just using the light of the northern sky as of 02:15BST.?
