Well gets a lot brighter anyway, just saw this on Discovery Channel, may have been mentioned elsewhere but I haven't noticed it.

A double star pair merging in a red nova and producing a new naked eye star in Cygnus very soon in the grand scheme of things cosmological.

Here's a location shot, I don't think the actual star is visible with amateur scopes.
