sharpcap capture settings

hi just wondered what capture settings you use ,just done a quick capture with the default setting but when played back it is in black and white thanks

You need to convert the video image file so it is debayered. You need some software to do this, and at the moment can’t remember which software the Debayer bit comes with. I’ll come back to you.

Download Firecapture, and there is an small app in that software to covert files to be debayered so colour cameras show correctly rather than black and white.

Is your camera the colour version (ASI 178 MC) or the mono version (ASI 178MM)? If the later than you won’t get colour images from it.

When you load files captured with a colour camera into Pipp it should automatically ask if you want to debayer it.

the four settings i can choose from are,,,raw8,rgb24,mono8 and raw 16 which do you use cheers

IIRC if you capture in RGB24 then it should playback in colour. If you capture in Raw8 or Raw16 then the video file will need to be debayered - with something like PiPP - I think the debayer setting is RGGB.
