Canon 6d1 more suitable for AP than 6d2 (lower iso noise etc - great news considering the huge price differential of around £500 new.

The non-articulating screen disadvantage is a minor issue that can be overcome with an inexpensive 7" HDMI led monitor - currently available for £30-£45 and ultimately able to be positioned just where you want it.

Good question.

I've not needed to actually measure the temperature, but from experience I can say that I've not perceived any increase.

Importantly, using an external monitor turns off the on-camera screen and that in itself potentially lowers internal temperature since the LEDs & associated processor/electronics will be off along with a little less drain on the battery also (batteries produce heat as they discharge).

Additionally, an external monitor can be switched off & on as needed.

My best evaluation is that ext monitoring would reduce camera heat if anything, maybe someone will test?
