The Dumbbell Nebula (M27) - My first RGB!

Collected some colour data last night and processed it today. Definitely not the last process, but I just had to share it!!

About 15-20 minutes of each colour and 30 minutes luminence:

Yes, I'm really happy with how it turned out in the end. I will need to reprocess it again from scratch, because I'm sure I made several errors along the way...

The info:

Data: 32 minutes of each channel (LRGB) - 2 hours total

Hardware: Atik 2-HS in ED80 at prime focus on unguided EQ6

Filters: L = Astronomik CLS; RGB = QHY dichroic filters

Processing: DSS and Photoshop. Darks captured, but DSS made a mess of the result :?

Here's the first reprocess. Somehow I don't think there's any improvement. The stars have gone all funny-coloured... :scratch:

I think I prefer the original (the pink stars are lovely though in the second!)

although I may change my mind at a later date..
